Steel plays a significant role in contemporary art. It is particularly eagerly used as a material for artistic works by sculptors.

Konsorcjum Stali S.A. has been supporting the development of art for many years, and an example of this is its long-term cooperation with the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Thanks to the artistic potential and technological facilities of the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, as well as the material base, technical resources, and production space of Konsorcjum Stali, a platform for real cooperation between the spheres of art and industry has been created. Joint implementation of artistic projects, cooperation in the realization of students' works, master's and doctoral theses, organizing open-air events and workshops for students and doctoral candidates of the Sculpture Department, have contributed to the creation of several dozen diploma works, smaller or larger spatial forms, some of which are presented in the facilities of Konsorcjum Stali S.A., and others in a periodically published calendar presenting the best works of students.

It should be emphasized that without the involvement of the Dean of the Sculpture Department, Prof. Jan Tutaj, Vice-Dean Dr. Dobiesław Gała, and Head of the Metal Studio Dr. Jacek Dudek, this cooperation would not have been so fruitful. An additional benefit is the consolidation in the minds of our clients as well as outside recipients of these works, of how versatile and surprising a material steel can be, with its possibilities for shaping and processing.

 

The cooperation between Konsorcjum Stali S.A. and the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts is constantly developing, and we will certainly be able to enjoy its effects more than once in the future.
